Hi, my name is Tyler.

I am a frontend developer based in Tampa, Florida.

About me.

My name is Tyler Tierney and I'm a frontend developer based in Tampa, Fl. I graduated from the University of Florida in 2019.

After graduation, I worked as an Account Executive in local advertising and then as a Revenue Operations Manager in commercial real estate.

Nowadays, I spend my time writing code in order to create websites and internal tools for clients in the financial industry.

I'm a Typescript fanatic and I love using Angular on large projects - with a heavy emphasis on RxJs. On personal projects, I use the Vite/React stack along with Node.js and PostgreSQL when needed.

LinkBase

LinkBase began as my introduction to Next.js. The project is a full-stack social media platform. User authentication is provided by Netlify Identity, database operations are managed through MongoDB, and image storage is provided by Amazon S3. The frontend uses Chakra UI in tandem with Next JS to provide server-side rendering, static page generation, and dynamic routing. All backend operations are written using Node JS.

The Scoop

The Scoop is my first attempt at building a web scraper. Instead of using an API, I parsed HTML from CNN Lite to build a search interface and email notification system. This was also my first project to fully integrate user authentication, in this case those services were provided by Firebase.
